Evaluation Part 5 // Technology
In this part, I am evaluating my use of technology throughout the process of making a music video. In particular how I have progressed and how any new media technologies were used and if they were successful.
Evaluation Part 4 // Audience Feedback
In this part of the evaluation, my partner and I discuss the feedback we received from our audience. This consisted of our own research (vox pops) and feedback from peers in other media classes. We discuss if we believe we have met our audience and make comments and replies to feedback.
Evaluation Part 3 // Synergy Between Products
In this part of the evaluation, I discuss how effective the combination of all of our products are in terms of the following criteria:
house style/branding
synergy
mode of address
representation of artist
themes
Evaluation Part 2 // Conventions
In this part of the evaluation, my partner and I narrate our own music video whilst referencing our influences to discuss how our music video is conventional.

Evaluation Part 1 // Brief
This is the brief we were working to:
'You have been hired by PL records to manage the promotion of one of their new acts. You have been contracted to create:
- one music video package
- a 6 or 8 gate cover for the artists digipak
- an A4 magazine advertisement promoting the digipak'
After making a presentation to showcase our ideas to the brief, me and my partner Nicole decided to use her song therefore her artist but amalgamate our ideas together. This is because her song had a better structure, a clear difference between the verse and chorus meaning we could easily make a difference in the editing style, which would overall make the music video better. Click here to see my presentation and Nicole's presentation.

The artist is Jasmine Thompson. She is 15 years old and is an English singer and songwriter. She is best known for her covers on Youtube and more recently some of her original songs that have been released in EPs. Click Here to view our treatment for our music video where we discuss the artist in more detail. Nicole had seen her covers on Youtube and decided to message her on Twitter and ask for permission to use the song "Run".
We were attracted to the artist, as she is young and new to the music scene she has not yet been made into a USP (Richard Dyer's Star Theory - Character and Personality). This made it easier for us, as we felt strongly about challenging the common use of the male gaze in female pop artist's videos, as she is such a young artist offering the representation of innocence which is rare in the music industry. We were attracted to her as an artist as she is extremely relatable to the teen girl audience, the theme of first love evident in most of her songs. This meant the song would fit well with our narrative idea and attract the audience we wanted, as our ideas conform to the pop genre in terms of themes and style.

Final Magazine Ad
This is our final magazine ad:
We followed the use of the personalised theme to represent our artist in the magazine ad, following the colour scheme of purple and using the notebook background and doodles to appeal to our target audience of young teen girls. There is faded writing of one of the artist's most popular singles (music video song) adding extra recognition for the audience. The magazine ad has all the information required, the album and artist's name, where and when the album is available and where the audience can find more information about our artist.
